Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Paul Zaidins is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of DataSpan Holdings. He is also Managing Partner and Founder of Bonefish Capital. Bonefish sponsored the acquisition of DataSpan from Media Recovery, Inc. Their acquisition of DataSpan was a finalist for D CEO Magazine’s Mergers & Acquisitions Awards in 2015.
Prior to founding Bonefish Capital, Mr. Zaidins was the interim CEO of New London Communications. Under Mr. Zaidins leadership, New London achieved a quarter over quarter revenue increase of over twenty percent as well improving employee morale and key vendor relationships. Prior to New London, he led American Locker through a successful turnaround which included rebranding it as the “orange key” company. He led the negotiations that resulted in American Locker securing a contract to provide lockers as a service at Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland which included American Locker employees providing frontline support to Disney guests. While at American Locker, he successfully lobbied the US Congress as part of a coalition of key business leaders that resulted in the passage of a tax provision that resulted in a seven figure tax refund to American Locker. Mr. Zaidins was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012 for his performance at American Locker.
Mr. Zaidins has significant middle market investment banking and independent sponsor experience as a Managing Director at Lane-Link Group and Vice-President at ECDI Capital. The principals of ECDI Capital have subsequently raised an SBIC fund and renamed the firm Valesco Industries. Mr. Zaidins started his career at Arthur Andersen & Co in the audit and litigation support practice areas.
Mr. Zaidins is an active supporter of philanthropic causes. He is currently Treasurer and Chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas. Mr. Zaidins also serves as an advisor to the Business Council for the Arts helping unite commerce and culture in North Texas.
Mr. Zaidins holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Vice Chairwoman and Executive Vice President
Sharon currently serves as Managing Director of Bonefish Capital. In 2014, Sharon and husband Paul partnered to form Bonefish Capital. Less than a year later, they were honored to announce their DataSpan Holdings acquisition as a finalist for D CEO Magazine’s 2015 Mergers and Acquisition Award.
Sharon began her career with the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) as a Commissioned Credit Examiner. While at FCA, Sharon served on various committees including an appointment to the National Flood Insurance Task Force. Sharon has been proudly associated with Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (RMCF) for over twenty years as she owned and operated a multi-unit franchise in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She credits RMCF for igniting her entrepreneurial spirit and cultivating her sales capabilities.
Sharon has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business with a dual emphasis in Finance and Marketing.
Vice President of Operations
John has over 25 years of service with DataSpan. He contributes extensive operational expertise that ensures our operations run smoothly and efficiently. He manages numerous internal departments including purchasing, warehousing, and our customer service team. John maintains high ethical standards with a keen eye to operational excellence and improved efficiencies.
Specialties: Growth strategies, operational reporting, process evaluations, negotiations, program implementation, quality control, and team motivations.
Community Involvement: John serves on the board of directors for Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas, Texas. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus (Catholic Charitable Organization).
Education: John holds a BA from Stonehill College in Massachusetts and a Masters of Humanities degree from the University of Dallas.
Chief Financial Officer
Kevin supports DataSpan in the planning, analysis, reporting and risk management of financial operations and systems, including accounting, budgeting, credit finance, human resources, information technology, and taxes. He is responsible for the DataSpan’s financial compliance and process controls, and serves as a liaison to the company’s financial community.
Kevin joined DataSpan Holdings in June 2016 from General Wireless Inc. (successor to RadioShack Corporation) where he served over 20 years in finance, accounting, credit, risk management and treasury, including roles as Senior Vice President of Finance and as Treasurer. He started his career serving 5 years with Arthur Andersen & Co (Dallas) in the audit and business advisory division.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Treasury Professional, and Certified Internal Auditor.
Director Marketing & Events
Sherry Pipkin joined DataSpan in Dallas, Tx in October, 1999, providing over 18 years of service. Sherry is responsible for leveraging DataSpan Vendor/Supplier partnerships and Market Development Funds (MDF); budgeting, planning and executing Client Events and DataSpan Sales Meetings & Trainings; overseeing the Website and all other Marketing activities relating to Sales.
Prior to DataSpan, Sherry had a 25 year career in Sales & Marketing with storage tape media manufacturers selling direct to end users, as well as, distributors. Previously, Sherry served as a Regional Account Manager for Graham Magnetics and then IBM Storage Media. She holds an Associate Arts Degree from Ranger College.
Vice President of Business Dev. & Sales Operations
Tonya Lowe, a 25 year veteran in the high technology industry leads DataSpan’s Business Development & Sales Operations. Tonya is responsible for leveraging new partnerships, identifying business opportunities and building a foundation to scale the Sales organization as DataSpan expands its commercial footprint & delivers upon its corporate vision.
Throughout her career, Tonya has demonstrated leadership skills in accelerating sales force productivity and driving business improvements with measurable results. As a veteran executive her experience spans across high technology companies including Nortel Networks, Inc., Sensus, and Extreme Networks, Inc. Previously, Tonya served as Vice President, Sales Operations & Strategy for Nortel, Vice President, Finance for Sensus and most recently Sales Operations for Extreme Networks. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from James Madison University.
Inside Sales Support Manager
Allison has over 21 years with DataSpan. She contributes extensive customer service and operational capabilities that ensures our operations run smoothly and efficiently. She manages numerous Inside Sales Support team members nationwide and works closely with management, operations, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Allison’s attended the University of Houston where she majored in Hospitality Management at the Conrad N. Hilton College. Her background in hospitality management has given Allison many tools that she has used in her role as the Inside Sales Support Manager at DataSpan.
After working in the hospitality industry for many years, Allison came to DataSpan in 1996 as an Inside Sales Support team member. She is considered a hands on manager and works side by side with her team.
